This activity has only minimal critical thinking; but it has a valuable function. It works, year after year, as a fun, upbeat launch for our TOK Retreat. The quotes loosely reflect our chosen theme, but also foreshadow a range of TOK topics. We are careful to include perennial classics like Jabberwocky and the Monty Python Argument Sketch. We also include humorous or poignant quotes from current news. The important thing is to start as we intend the continue: celebrating the voice of each of our 100 or so Retreat participants in the public arena.

I’m smart; you’re dumb. I’m big; you’re little. I’m right; you’re wrong. And there’s nothing you can do about it.
